La Quinta is an ideal place to enjoy the famous California sunshine. Our parks and recreation department keeps the neighborhood parks well maintained, making them an excellent place to spend a little quality family time.
Adams Park
With a separate playground for toddlers and big kids, and a couple sports courts for teens, Adams Park, on the corner of Adams and La Palma, is a great park for all ages. On sunny days you can even enjoy the water spray.
Civic Center Campus
The beatific pond landscape, including a gazebo and a fountain, make the Civic Center an excellent place for everything from a picnic to a wedding. Conveniently located by city hall, La Quinta Library and La Quinta Senior Center, many like to take walks around the park.
Desert Pride Park
Off of Adams and Bayberry, this wide open space is excellent for running around or enjoying people watching in the shade.
Eisenhower Park
Another open space to enjoy a picnic or the small playground. Located on Eisenhower and Colima.
Fritz Burns Park
This park has something for everyone. With a swimming pool and tennis court you can meet up with your neighbors for a good workout. Skaters will enjoy the skatepark. You can also meet up with other dog lovers at the dog park.
La Quinta Park
Located across from La Quinta High School this park is an excellent hang out during the summer. With a wading fountain for kids and a skatepark for teens, you can relax away the summer with a gorgeous view of the mountains.
La Quinta Sports Complex
Located on Parks Ave, you´ll end up here if you have any students involved in the Little Leagues around the city. You can find everything from baseball to soccer fields here.
Monticello Park
Located on Fred Waring and Jefferson, this is a popular park to take a leisurely stroll or bike ride. There´s also a playground and plenty of shade available for lounging.
Saguaro Park
Another excellent place for a bike ride or a walk on Saguaro and Bottlebrush.
Season´s Park
A long stretch of park with slides, shade and monkey bars.
Velasco Park
A small but enjoyable park on Temecula and Velasco
Lake Cahuilla
As a county park, there are many amenities available here. While swimming in the lake is not allowed, you can enjoy an afternoon fishing, a weekend hiking, or a trip around the lake on horseback.
