With a population of over 76,000, Indio is the Coachella Valley´s largest city, yet it has retained much of its small-town America flavor. Indio is blessed with one of the sunniest climates in the world. And it shares the Coachella Valley with such International resort destinations as Palm Springs, Rancho Mirage and Indian Wells. Indio is the City of Festivals. Starting Thanksgiving weekend with the first of three Native American pow wows and continuing with the International Tamale Festival, the Southwest Arts Festival and the National Date Festival, the winter season is filled with exciting things to do. Indio hosts a number of national sporting events, including the Skins Game and the Indio Desert Circuit -- America's largest horse show -- plus world class polo.

But that's just the half of it.
Indio is also one of the largest gateways to Joshua Tree National Park, where the Colorado and Mojave Deserts come together to form some of the most unique geological displays known to man.
